The Sotos Brothers, Jim and Tony born and raised in New York City, and once the owners and operators of The Celebrity Club in Moline, Illinois, are veterans in show business. They formed an act and left New York while still in their teens, working all the major night clubs and theaters around the country. After being signed to a recording and management contract by Tony Zale, (the former middleweight boxing champion of the world), they had a record hit called “The Drag” which was quite a big seller and got the group booked on all the major network T.V. shows. After this followed bookings on the same bill with Jack E. Leonard, Jack Teagarden, Tony Bennet and many others. The Celebrity has presented attractions such as Martin Denny, Flip Wilson, Something Smith and the Redheads, Gene Krupa, and many many others.

“During my stay [at the Celebrity] I listened to the album was greatly impressed, first by the choice of material, also by the superb balance of the group sound wise and foremost by the performance which is brilliant. Fifteen stars, (the maximum) for Tony Sotos, five for his vocalizing, five for his swinging saxophone, and five for his vervy flute. For one time in my life I like a Fender bass guitar, this is because of the way Jim Sotos plays it, all I can say is beautiful!!! Gaetan Caviola is in there all the way, tasty and never obtrusive. As for the guitarist Bill Pasquale, his accompaniment is something else. I’m certain all of you will enjoy this music as much as I do.” – Gene Krupa
